Summer Journeys Wins 2nd Place in Funky Fourth Parade

July 2010~The Town of Greensboro awarded Wonder & Wisdom a second-place prize for this summer's float. The kids at Greensboro Wonder & Wisdom created a six-foot-tall giraffe to represent themselves in the annual Greensboro Funky Fourth Parade. The giraffe is the adopted mascot of Wonder & Wisdom and stands for non-violent communication--a key component of the children's curriculum. The weather was perfect and the children enjoyed the view as they passed out candy and blew bubbles from the giraffe's side. If you weren't already aware, giraffes have the largest heart of any land mammal, they see the big picture, and they are kind and gentle. At Wonder & Wisdom our children are practicing speaking in "giraffe" by acknowledging their feelings and needs when communicating. Lifelong skills in action...congratulations 2010 Summer Journeys kids!
